submerged near the north shore there is a recent shipwreck and a rock known as 'lúcio's flagstone' in reference to its discoverer, diver and carioca restaurant owner lúcio lenz gonçalves.

there is also good diving on the south side of the island, where there is plenty of marine life and depths reach 35 meters.

since april 2010, this group of islands has been declared a 'natural monument' named monumento natural das ilhas cagarras, or 'mona cagarras'.
