at a glance

funk melody is an older style of funk which became controversial due to the intent for which the music was produced - funk melody incorporated melodies from popular songs, primarily american songs, and some contested that the genre was faddish and intended for tv and radio - mc marcinho, koringa and buchecho are the more well-known funk melody artists.

cleaner radio-friendly version of funk eventually emerged, referred to as pop funk, which uses elements of pop music along with funk carioca, creating a subgenre of funk that is more approachable by the greater population - popular pop funk artists are anitta, ludmilla, valesca popozuda, biel, and naldo.
