The main challeneges identified by Mello and Erling are as follows: performing the work while the building remains inhabited and minimizing the impact of activities on day-to-day residents and users. a greater than predicted increase in the scope of service for structural recovery in residential blocks depending on the state of the foundations and floor slabs. parts of the installations do not meet current standards, due to never having been repaired. although the finishes for the restoration were relatively recent, they were not available on the market, which increases the cost.

This study is based on the Strategic Plan and Basic Project Restore Housing Estate Mayor Mendes de Moraes / Boulder, prepared by the GAP / Group Architecture and Planning in 2004, coordinated by the architect Alfredo Britto, the Concrejato Engineering Technical Services initiated. Concrejato is a Concremat Group company, founded in 1978 to perform specialized services for the rehabilitation and strengthening of structures and restoration, and has since acted across the whole nation.
