Presented by the  Universidade Federal Fluminense, the study 'DAQUI NÓS NÃO SAÍMOS E DAQUI NINGUÉM NOS TIRA': Direito e ação coletiva no caso da remoção no Canal do Anil - We will not leave here and no-one will remove us: Law and collective action in the case of the removal of the Canal do Anil, by Ana Cristina de Mello Pimentel Lourenço, is a master's thesis that explores the relationship between community, social movements and the Judiciary, when a group of residents of Canal do Anil were threatened with removal from their neighborhood of Jacarepaguá, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. by analyzing several events related to attempts to remove the residents, we will show how locals joined members of social movements that were promoting housing public policies, how they formed a network of collective action in the public sphere, what the activities of this network were, and how it functioned. The network's collective action aimed to impel state-level decision-making institutions to address their demands, targeting mostly the Judiciary. We will analyze the outcomes and significance of this unique case in relation to the local community, social activists and the judicial sphere.
