In this approach, the work highlights the notions of habitability and social subjectivity, considering them essential to the understanding of the conditions needed to improve the quality of life. By investigating the history of slums in the city of Rio de Janeiro, you can see progress and setbacks in the forms of acts of public authorities in such spaces. Given this context and based on experiments conducted in the communities Brás de Pina and Canal das Tachas in the decades of 1970 and 1990, respectively, points to common features of the methodology of intervention, in both cases, which led to greater involvement and participation of residents throughout the process. Finally used up information from qualitative research conducted with a group of community residents Curicica 1, the studied area, under a project developed by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, to identify the main demands of the community and point out the feasibility of developing public policies more appropriate to local realities. arrow-back      arrow-forward
