at a glance

on the morro do leme, the hill on the left of the beach there is the caminho dos pescadores (fishermen's path) a short walkway on the side of the hill that is used by local recreational fishermen and offers beautiful views of copacabana, the islands, and the hills.

sometimes called mirante do leme, this area has a kiosk with a public restroom, shade, and many tables.

also on the sidewalk by leme beach is a free gym for the elderly, in reality used by everyone exercising in the area.

access to the nearby forte do leme, about 30 meters from the beach, leads to the mirante do morro do leme, a viewpoint from which to admire copacabana and the hills home to the favelas built on the hills behind the beaches, including the nearby babilôniaand chapéu mangueira.         arrow-back      arrow-forward
