at a glance

At first concepts and processes are considered, and soon afterwards information and data will be revealed to support the examination which starts in the spatial area of Campo Grande, a prominent Rio sub-center. The present work is structured in three parts. The first addresses the different meanings of the concepts of centre and centrality, clarifying which perspective we intend to use in this research. The second is a wider consideration of the internal spatial difference in the neighborhood mentioned in the first chapter, as a demonstration of how the processes work on a more local scale, highlighting that the spatial area being studied has gone, as will be exposed, through extreme modifications because of the expansion of the real estate sector increasing the internal fragmentation of the neighborhood and emphasizing its centrality. The third and final section will be an attempt to map the interactions which corroborate the view of this neighborhood as an important Rio sub-center as a result of the available transport. arrow-back      arrow-forward
