Presented by the    Revistes i congressos UPC - Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya/BarcelonaTech, the study Evolução urbana, uso e ocupação do solo em Campo Grande, Rio de Janeiro - Urban evaluation of the use and occupation of the soil in Campo Grande, Rio de Janeiro, aims to present the urban evolution of Campo Grande, one of the biggest neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro, through an analysis of the history and of the actual uses of the soil, and finally to examine urban transformations. During the agricultural period, its most promising product, the orange, endowed it with the title of Citrolândia. The train station, inaugurated at the end of the 19th Century, was responsible for the increase in the availability of commerce and services, and between the years of 1950 and 1960, Highways were developed and the Industrial District was formed, which boosted even further activity in the area. In the 1990s, the neighborhood experienced high rates of demographic growth, stimulated by the formal housing market in this region. arrow-back      arrow-forward
