at a glance

In this decade, the construction of the first shopping center increased the range of urban infrastructure and services, heightening the growth of the neighborhood, principally in the 2000s. The observed literature encompasses authors who study the evolution and production of urban space, such as Corrêa (1979 and 1999), Abreu (2006) and Soares (1965 and 1990). The use and occupation of the soil were investigated through satellite images, thematic maps, photographs and the Projeto de Estruturação Urbana (Project of Urban Structuring), created by the Municipal Government in 2004. Presented by the    Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro,  the study Centralidade urbana: Campo Grande - RJ e suas articulações através do transporte público - Urban Centrality: Campo Grande - RJ and its articulations through public transport, by Vânia Regina Jorge da Silva is part of research developed during a Master's course which finished in 2009. On this occasion, the objective was to examine the spatial area of Campo Grande - RJ from the perspective of its unequal geographical development (SMITH, 1998). arrow-back      arrow-forward
