at a glance

encouraged by the success of their cookies, the brothers moved to rio and started working in a bakery in the botafogo neighborhood, called globo - with the bakery only open monday through friday, on weekends the brothers were personally selling their products on the beaches.

in that period it was uncommon for cariocas to sell anything in the streets or on the beach, and most street vendors were immigrants from other parts of brasil - the following year, in 1955, biscoito globo was officially born and the brothers proceeded to open seven more bakeries.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
