1 pm: Walk through jardim botânico - For towering trees and lush fauna jardim botânico is the ideal location, situated wonderfully close to Parque Lage.

Created in 1808 predominantly for the cultivation of therapeutic and medical plants, the garden and greenhouses now plays host to an impressively varied selection of plants, from Oriental spices, such as vanilla and cinnamon, to vegetables from Portuguese and Guiana provinces, as well as plants, trees and cacti from all over the globe.

Arranged and assimilated in part for their aesthetic splendor, scientists and botanists continue to study the life cycle, unique properties and medicinal functions of these plant-lives.
