at a glance
3-4 pm: Walk along Copacabana beach - To the other side of this great stone one finds the trendy, famous and buzzing stretch of Copacabana beach.

The breezy and visually diverse amble can continue along this stretch of coast where one is likely to see cyclists and skate-boarders whizzing past; foot-volley, volleyball and capoeira being practiced on the golden sands; the city's residents chatting and basking in the afternoon rays; and swimmers, surfers and stand up paddlers frolicking in the water.

kiosks selling a wide variety of fruits, salads, savory snacks and refreshing juices pepper the coastal strip, while on each side and in front mountains magnificently loom over the surroundings, and islands dot the vista of the water.

One can return to the impressive Copacabana fort, for a light refreshment at Confeitaria Colombo or at the café 18 do forte while taking in the wonderful views.
