at a glance

with all the necessary amenities of bathrooms, and drinking fountains - it is one of the best places to bring and enjoy a picnic with the family, friends or other loved ones, or to play football or volleyball, rent a bicycle, workout on the gym equipment or let the kids play in the children's playgrounds.

located in the very ecologically diverse barra da tijuca, the area was originally used for the cultivation of sugar cane - once the sugar industry in the city began to decline, the area in which bosque da barra stands was left in near isolation for more than 100 years, allowing the lush natural vegetation and wildlife to regenerate.

an untamed oasis of atlantic forest throughout the early stages of the twentieth century, as of 1960 the area began to be urbanized, leading to the classification of the park as an area of environmental conservation

as a result the park is simply bursting with rare and endangered species, which have been able to find a safe haven in the extensive, and protected, lush vegetation.   arrow-back      arrow-forward
