at a glance

bosque da barra, or arruda câmara park, as it sometimes called was designed and opened in 1982 to preserve some of the natural area in the rapidly growing barra da tijuca area, west of rio de janeiro - it is one of the most popular parks in the region, and even with the surrounding urban sprawl, it has managed to protect many endangered species as well as the original natural landscape of swamp and marshland.

bosque da barra is a harmonious escape, filled with natural beauty and clean air for healthy fun - the area spans across an impressive 50 hectares, and is home to a vast collection of rare flora and fauna, it incorporates a theatre area and large artificial lake with sand banks and bridges to enjoy.
