Among other goals, the purpose of this dissertation is to show how the screenplay has a capital importance for the implementation and construction of a narrative universe such as the one in 'City of God'. To prove this we have a job in three parts. Each section will aply narrative theory and tecnique, one in some topic order, trying to maintain the greatest extent possible, based on the book ' The Tools of Screenwriting: A Writer's Guide to the Craft and Elements of a Screenplay,' by David Howard and Edward Mabley. We hope that, through the technical and theorical approach, the capital importance of screenplay in the 'City of God' universe finally will emerge. Also, we should point ways to the technical normatization for screenplaying. Presented by the    Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, the study Em busca das memórias e identidades de um lugar: Considerações sobre o protagonismo juvenil na Cidade de Deus (RJ) a partir da ONG Casa de Cultura - In search of the memories and identities of a place: Considerations about youth leadership in Cidade de Deus (RJ), at the NGO Casa de Cultura (Culture House), by Diogo da Silva Cardoso, aims to present and examine the Casa de Cultura Cidade de Deus, an entity still in the process of institutional construction, but which already has working groups in various areas: education, the creation of audiovisual material, arts, cultural shows, gastronomy and social assistance.
