Rio de Janeiro's neighborhoods I Love Rio logo Rio de Janeiro's neighborhoods Rio de Janeiro's neighborhoods Rio de Janeiro's neighborhoods Rio de Janeiro's neighborhoods

at a glance

the neighborhood itself still covers a wide area, consisting in a stretch of land between the tijuca and the pedra branca ridges.

set between the maciço da tijuca, the parque estadual da pedra branca, and the lagoas of jacarepaguá and tijuca, the tallest point of the city of rio de janeiro, the pico da pedra branca, is at the border between jacarepaguá and the neighborhood of vargem grande.

to the south it is delimited by the line formed by the ambassador abelardo bueno avenue and by the tijuca lagoon, and to the north it has a frontier with the neighborhoods of anil, gardênia azul, city of god, curicica and taquara.

the two nature parks enveloping the ridges are undoubtedly the largest green areas found in jacarepaguá, but the whole neighborhood still has a very rural feel to it - the hills of panela and pinheiro add to this feel for the region.  arrow-back      arrow-forward
