at a glance

the campo grande  bairro (neighborhood) is situated in the zona oeste (west zone) of rio de janeiro. the neighborhood was subject to extensive development after the first half of the 20th century. especially during the 1960s and 1970s several urbanizations were built, in order to create further residential areas and adjacent industrial regions.

the scope and the spread of these smaller areas of housing, across the wide area covered by campo grande, caused authorities to name each one and treat them as sub-neighborhoods, so to have geographic landmarks significant enough to organize public transport and other services.

the residential area known as bairro adriana is one of these smaller sections of campo grande. it was built during the 1970s, occupying an area between the posse road and the posse hill. its planning contained several separate zones, one of them being jardim novo horizonte. arrow-back      arrow-forward
