Presented by the    Universidade Federal Fluminense, the study Nas margens: Experiências de suburbanos com periodismo no Rio de Janeiro, 1880-1920 - In the margins: Suburban experiences with journalism in Rio de Janeiro, 1880-1920, by Leandro Clímaco Mendonça This is a study dedicated to understanding the process of the formation and development of suburban journalism in the city of Rio de Janeiro between 1880 and 1920. Through the analysis of numerous materials, in particular dozens of newspapers produced in the suburbs, we aim to understand what motivated men and women to invest in the publication of newspapers, magazines and almanacs in that historical moment. By presenting suburban journalism from the city, this work has as its intention the identification of practical challenges faced by those involved in the production of these press organs.
