in the 1960s and 1970s several wealthier citizens established themselves in the lands of the region, attracted by its rural calm - today these larger mansions, and even some which survived the passing of the centuries, still exist amidst the more modern urbanizations in the region. the main attractions are, by far the natural wonders of this still very rural area. the pedra branca state park encompasses the hills to the east, but there are also several trails and beaches all around. |
