The work aims to contribute to urban climate studies, through as investigation of the thermal field on Ilha do Governador-RJ, using the method of mobile transects, placed in two distinct seasonal positions (summer and winter) at three points in the day (6:00, 13:00 and 21:00).

This data, in turn, was the basis for the documentation of urban topographic and climatic units, which followed the orientation of the proposal used and developed by Brandão (1996), in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and Tarifa and Armani (2001), in the city of São Paulo, which use climatic information (air temperature, relative humidity and direction and intensity of wind) and geo-ecological factors (geographical position, orientation and altitude).
